The part no one tells you about Big Law
Leaving a top-tier international firm isn’t usually part of the script.
But after years of billion-dollar transactions and all-nighters, Pooja realised something quietly unsettling:

She wasn’t bored of the law.
She was bored of the sameness — the deals that felt like déjà vu.

She almost left the profession entirely…until she began working with business founders whose challenges didn’t come with a handbook. Cross-border growth, new technology, unfamiliar markets — nothing was copy-paste anymore. That’s when the law stopped feeling routine and started feeling useful, because the work was driven by solving real problems, not just producing documents.

That shift — and a relocation to Dubai — led her into the work that keeps her engaged now:
helping companies navigate the Far East ⇄ Middle East corridor, where no two deals look alike and the people behind them couldn’t be more different.

Alongside her cross-border focus, Pooja developed a deep interest in Web3 and digital asset models, advising emerging tech businesses through LawSentry — a consulting platform she created to support fast-moving founders operating at the edge of new regulation.

Stirring the “Qi” into the “Deal Chai”

Cross-border deals don’t move in straight lines.

Some moments demand caffeine — fast drafting, fast signatures, fast decisions. Other moments demand calm — stepping back, simplifying, keeping the business protected without slowing it down.

Pooja brings both: urgency when timing is everything, and fluidity when the smartest move is not to overcomplicate. She reviews every contract with both lenses — legal and operational — so founders are never over-lawyered or under-protected.

Because in this region:
sometimes a deal needs caffeine — and sometimes it needs calm.

Energy when needed. Flow when it matters.

The perfect blend of Chai and Qi.

Fun fact: She almost named the firm ChaiQi Legal!

From First-Time Founders to Global Boardrooms

Pooja has worked across every kind of business scenario and with every kind of stakeholder :

C-suite leaders in global banks where a wrong comma can cost millions

• Founders navigating their first fundraise, product launch, or IPO

• “David vs Goliath” contract negotiations where leverage is uneven

• Scale-ups managing their first multimillion-dollar customer dispute or employee lawsuit

And she has supported companies across the entire lifecycle:
entity formation, public and private fundraises, vendor contracting, licensing and regulatory reviews, crisis response, dispute strategy, and even full-blown debt restructurings when things got tough.

She didn’t map a career to showcase range — the range came from going where clients needed real judgment.

And what she learned along the way is simple:

Business isn’t linear.
So legal support can’t be either.

The point isn’t that she’s seen it all — just that she’s seen enough to know what matters.

A lawyer for both the deal and the business behind it

Pooja works where most legal roles split in two — the high-stakes deal table and the everyday reality inside the company.

Some days, as deal counsel, she’s directing all the moving parts of a multi-jurisdictional transaction — aligning counterparties, closing drafting gaps under pressure, and making sure the signing actually happens on the day it’s meant to.

Other days, she’s inside the business as fractional counsel — helping founders decide what’s worth pushing and what risks are acceptable. She often provides “burst capacity” or acts as a strategic sounding board to in-house lawyers who need senior support on-demand.

It is law that adapts to context — Clients often say the value is this: she sees the whole picture without losing sight of the tiny detail that could break it.

Because the business must live with the documents long after the deal is done..
